Queen’s Hall Quilt
During lockdown, the Creative Age lifelong learning group kept their hands busy, stitching a growing collection of embroidered circles, each with its own design. When they were ready to bring them together, they asked Slow Hand Creative Studio to help turn them into a collective quilt for Queen’s Hall in Hexham, where the group meets. Together we settled on an abstract pattern with their new logo at its centre, and every member took ownership of their own panel, hand sewing each embroidered disc into place. The studio then finished the quilt with machine stitch, joining all those individual pieces into one. It now hangs as a shared piece of work, made by many hands.
