This beautiful and original concept involved intricate hand embroidery onto denim, and was created as a gift for the client’s wife. Having recently attended a family painting session with their young toddler, we were asked to translate the hand prints from the painted canvas onto a frequently borrowed denim jacket, encapsulating the memory into something wearable. After tracing off the design, we used a mix of darning stitches, bullion knots and straight stitches to recreate the texture of the paint on canvas, and blended threads to show the organic mixing of colours. The final result was incredibly tactile and sentimental, made with hopes that it will one day be passed onto their daughter.
